The Feast of St. Patrick
'Everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day!' Or so it seems; in this short we explore the feelings of Irish and Irish descendants in Syracuse, NY about the traditional holiday. Beyond the usual cover of drunken debauchery, St. Patrick's day reveals deeper meanings in Irish culture, particularly in the communication and celebration of the sharing of food and drink. Friends prepare and share a traditional Irish meal - so much more than cabbage and potatoes! Alignment - speculative
A story about love, astronomy, bad French, and marmalade jars. I am using a combination of found images, Flash, After Effects, cut paper, and cell animation to create unique imagery in this short film.
The Regulars - 2006
This short film was made in completion of a BFA in Film Art at Syracuse University. In it I explore the connection between three strangers who happen to meet one night at a diner. Starring Rachel Kiner, Morgan Davies, and Jeremiah Thompson with stunning photography by Kieran Murphy. Watch a low-resolution version here.
Cut Out - 2004
This was my first short animation, done in physical cut paper. I explored several new techniques including photo animation and "cell" animation over moving paper shapes. Dedicated to Erin Murphy, who made me a collage birthday card one year. Watch a low-resolution version here.
